We are a husband and wife team dedicated to providing quality care for your pets. We treat your fur-babies as one of our own.

Bold Summit works to provide quality care in the Midcoast Region, offering dog boarding, doggy daycare, dog walks, pet check-ins, and in-home pet stays.

We are working towards an all inclusive dog boarding facility that will offer luxury pet suites for dogs and cats, with the occasional exotic animal (i.e. lizards, snakes, birds, rabbits, etc.).

Mike has a Master’s Degree in Archaeology and worked in the compliance arena for several years. After moving to Scotland for a stint, he made a switch toward Animal Husbandry, working as a caretaker of an estate and livestock manager.

Moving back to the States, Mike wanted to stay in animal care and was hired as the Kennel Supervisor at Pope Memorial Humane Society. He remained Kennel Supervisor for three years, helping 600+ dogs find forever homes in Maine and across New England.

Meg has a Master’s Degree in Art History and has worked in a few museums throughout the years in varying capacities. After her time abroad working on a PhD, she decided life in academia was not for her. She returned to her old passion of caring for animals.

With their lives leading them back to the United States Mike and Meg decided to start a pet care business. Meg spearheaded the start-up of Bold Summit, starting as an in-home pet care service and has now evolved into a dog boarding and doggy daycare business.

Dogs staying with us are welcomed by our two senior dogs, Moose and Sadie, our 30lb forever puppy, Indiana, and our two curious cats, Jarvis and Pearl.

We offer all-inclusive pet care that is customizable based on your pets’ needs.

Sadie
SadieThe Lady
Sadie was rescued in 2012 in Glendive, MT and loves attention. She is getting older and doesn’t move as fast but that doesn’t stop her from playing and cuddling. She is the matriarch and absolutely loves puppies.

Moose
Grumpy Bear

Moose was adopted from Sidney, MT in 2014. He spent time on the streets, but decided to retire his life of adventure for leisure on the couch. He grumbles and barks but he is a big softy.

Indiana “Indy”
The Diva

Indy was adopted from Pope Memorial Humane Society in 2019. She is pretty and knows it. She thinks she is boss but will still roll over for belly rubs.

Pearl and Jarvis
Princess and Handsome

Pearl (white) only has three legs but it doesn’t hold her back, she runs around the house and climbs gates no problem. Adopted from Pope Memorial in 2019. Sometimes she’s feisty and sometimes she’s sweet.

Jarvis (striped) started as a runt and is now a big boy. He loves to leap up the windows in an attempt to grab bugs outside. He is also the first to greet a new dog with sniffs and rubs. Adopted from Pope Memorial in 2020.

Testimonials

“As an ‘only dog,’ I look forward to my weekly visits to Bold Summit to learn to play with other dogs and cats. But mostly I like being with Meghan and Mike whom my humans think are great with me.”

Bella, Thomaston, ME

“Mike and Meghan not only walked me but they would run me to get my Border Collie energy out. I was always excited to see them, I would even pee a little.”

Summit, South Thomaston, ME

“We have two dogs and a cat. One of those dogs (the larger, roughly 60lbs) has major anxiety problems with anything out of place or different. Usually with new people, she won’t eat, she barks if they look at her, and she looks scared. This was never the case with Mike and Meg. They instantly became part of the family. Rather than barking like crazy, the pups would cry because they were too excited to greet them at the door. Genuine, kindhearted people, easy to work with, and the ‘farm’ loves them! We would never think of going through anyone else for our boarding needs when we’re out of town!”

Parents of Kora, Chewy, and Otis (Rockport, ME)

“Meghan and Mike are the BEST!! They truly understand the mind of a dog and have always gone out of their way to insure my pup is safe and happy. I have a senior dog who needs a lot of extra care and there is no request that they are not willing to perform. They put my dog’s needs first and when I travel for business or vacation, I can enjoy the trip because I know they are on duty, and all will be well. Hands down, the best pet service in MidCoast Maine! You will not regret putting your beloved pet in their hands!!”
